Program Overview

Your Open Campus Block program in Amsterdam gives you the flexibility to shape a study abroad experience that fits your goals while living in one of Europe’s most vibrant and forward-thinking cities. You’ll enroll in CIEE courses and online courses taught through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Step beyond the classroom through co-curricular and extracurricular experiences like biking along Amsterdam’s iconic canals, exploring the city’s dynamic neighborhoods and local cafés, and taking a day trip to the Dutch countryside to see windmills, tulip fields, and traditional villages. Expect a daily rhythm shaped by canal-side views, bike rides everywhere, and a culture that blends innovation with deeply rooted traditions.

While housing is limited in Amsterdam, CIEE Amsterdam offers a variety of housing options throughout the city. All housing is located within a 45-minute commute of CIEE Amsterdam and the city center by public transport or bicycle.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
