Program Overview

Your CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad program in Milan lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: A part-time internship with an international organization (approximately 20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and two elective courses taught by CIEE faculty. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Italian culture. Live, learn, and work in Milan!

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Milan will open doors for you to explore Italy's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

Take a day trip to Lake Como or to an iconic Italian town like Geneva to see some of Italy’s most beautiful natural landscapes
Participate in a pasta-making and/or wine-tasting session to complement gastronomy-based courses
Join guided visits to some of Milan’s museums and galleries, like Pinacoteca di Brera or Museo del Novecento

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
