France: French Language in Montpellier
franceThe Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics is pleased to offer the Summer  Study Abroad program in France 2017.  Students will study at the Institut Méditerranéen de Langes et Services (IMLS), in Montpellier. This city, located on the Mediterranean coast, offers an amazing array of cultural and natural opportunities to enjoy French lifestyle. Numerous international students study French language and culture in Montpellier each summer.
Students receive six credit hours at WVU, either at the 300-level (one 3-credit Advanced Language course, and one 3-credit French Culture course), or at the intermediate level (French 200, equivalent to 203-204). 300-level courses count for the French major or minor.
The program includes 4 excursions to Paris, Nimes, and two other locations in the south of France TBD and there is easy access to the beach by public transportation.
The program includes room and board (homestay including breakfast and dinner),  IMLS tuition, fees and textbooks, WVU tuition, excursions, and land transportation in France. Not included: Airfare, land transportation in the US, lunches, some meals during excursions.

Information: Montpellier, the capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, is 10km inland from the Mediterranean Sea. Its medieval center, the Ecusson, is home to narrow alleyways and the pedestrian-only Rue de la Loge, where shops sell antiques, crafts and upmarket fashion. The 13th-century Université de Montpellier contributes to a large student population and a cutting-edge cultural scene.

Academics

Billing for the summer 2017 programs will occur upon registration into the courses associated with the Education Abroad program in STAR. The payment deadlines for the program will be the same as WVU Summer Semester Tuition and Fees. Registration will occur in mid-March, students will receive correspondence from OGA with registration instructions upon acceptance into the program after the application deadline. All payments are due in full before trip departure. Payments can be made through STAR or by contacting the Mountaineer HUB at (304) 293-4006.
