Spain: SantanderLandscapes of Southern Europe is a faculty-led study abroad experience that aims to instill an appreciation for Southern European culture, food, history, language, environmental issues, agriculture, architecture and landscape architecture. It does so by guiding students through the landscapes and cityscapes of Spain- Madrid, Seville and Barcelona and Italy- Rome, Pompeii, Florence; while allowing students ample time to explore sites and sights on their own. The program is targeted to any undergraduate or graduate student regardless of major but highlights and emphasizes landscape architecture, horticulture, history, and environmental issues. Sketching (for design students) and journaling (for other majors) are an integral part of the assessment and grade for the course associated with this program.
