Program Description:
South Africa: International Summer Program at Stellenbosch University
STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL Office invites you to spend four weeks of your summer (our winter) in one of the most beautiful regions of the world, while you learn about life in post-Apartheid South Africa and experience the rich and diverse culture of the Western Cape.

About the Summer School:
We have a holistic approach in regards to how a student should be introduced to a study field or subject. This is reflected by the fact that we try to present a well balanced academic programme combining theory and practice in an organic manner. Our social programme is also designed in such a manner that it supports our academic programme and provides an introduction to the cultural diversity of Stellenbosch and the Western Cape.

Academic Courses:
The academic programme consists of lectures, group discussions and field trips, and is taught by Stellenbosch University faculty and other South African experts. The lectures cover a variety of topics, including Community Engagement, History, Politics, Bio-diversity, Art, Literature, Sociology, the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, Democratic Consolidation in South Africa, Economics, Philosophy and Business, Multilingualsm and Intercultural Communication, Marketing, and China in Africa.

Students may choose from 4 Academic Tracks:
  • General Elective Programme
  • Learning, Sustainability, and Community Engagement
  • Doing Business in South Africa
  • Public Health
