Czech Republic: Art & Architecture
PragueThis one-credit course enables students to go to Prague and the Czech Republic for Spring Break.  There are no prerequisites for the course;  in particular, no knowledge of Czech is assumed.  This course combines travel with lectures and cultural learning, with the students visiting architectural landmarks and learning about artistic treasures of the Czech capital, as well as visiting the former Jewish district of the capital, along with its various synagogues and museums.  Additionally, students will see the medieval Bone Church at Kutná Hora, the Nazi ghetto of Theresienstadt, and the Czech mountain resort of Ceský Krumlov.

Information: Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it's known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colorful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, with a popular show. Completed in 1402, pedestrian Charles Bridge is lined with 30 statues of saints.

Billing for the program will occur upon registration into the courses associated with the Education Abroad program in STAR. The payment deadlines for the program will be the same as WVU Semester Tuition and Fees. Students will receive correspondence from OGA with registration instructions upon acceptance into the program after the application deadline. All payments are due in full before trip departure. Payments can be made through STAR or by contacting the Mountaineer HUB at (304) 293-4006.
