China: MBA Study Abroad
chinaWVU MBA students will  attend this study abroad program as part of an on-campus course (BADM 562) that includes international business classes during the spring semester.  Three weeks of coursework will focus on business in China, and the final two weeks will involve travel to China in order to see the study in action.

The final grade of the excursion to China will involve the student's completion of a 6-8 page paper that addresses international business issues previously covered in the classroom before trip departure and a one page reflection upon return.

Information: Beijing, China’s massive capital, has history stretching back 3 millennia. Yet it’s known as much for its modern architecture as its ancient sites such as the grand Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nearby, the massive Tiananmen Square pedestrian plaza is site of Mao Zedong’s mausoleum and the National Museum of China, displaying a vast collection of cultural relics.

Population: 14.35 million

Information: Enormous Shanghai, on China’s central coast, is the country's biggest city and a global financial hub. Its heart is the Bund, a famed waterfront promenade lined with colonial-era buildings. Across the Huangpu River rises Pudong’s futuristic skyline, including 632m Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with distinctive pink spheres. Sprawling Yuyuan Garden has traditional pavilions, towers and ponds.

Population: 4.482 million

Information: Xi’an is a large city and capital of Shaanxi Province in central China. Once known as Chang’an (Eternal Peace), it marks the Silk Road’s eastern end and was home to the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties' ruling houses. In Xi’an’s surrounding plains are the famed Bingmayong (Terracotta Warriors), thousands of life-size, hand-molded figures buried with China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang.

Billing for the spring 2017 programs will occur upon registration into the courses associated with the Education Abroad program in STAR. The payment deadlines for the program will be the same as WVU spring semester Tuition and Fees. Registration will occur in mid-December, students will receive correspondence from OGA with registration instructions upon acceptance into the program after the application deadline. All payments are due in full before trip departure. Payments can be made through STAR or by contacting the Mountaineer HUB at (304) 293-4006.
